Evaluation of Incision-Site Blood Flow Using Laser Speckle Contrast Imaging

چکیده
Introduction: Maintaining blood flow at the incision site following dermal suturing is one of most important factors affecting postoperative wound healing outcomes. However, this issue has not yet been sufficiently investigated. We aimed to evaluate and compare closure with a combination two techniques/materials in pigs using laser speckle contrast imaging.Materials methods: Pigs (n = 4) were anesthetized, three incisions made upper lower abdomen each 6 per pig). The closed set-back continuous monofilament sutures (incision 1), interrupted 2), barbed 3) 8 for incision). Closure time was measured assessed 20 min after 3 imaging. Results: mean required close (4.36 ± 0.48 min) significantly shorter than that 2 (5.45 0.67 (p 0.019). Statistical analysis changes from baseline corrected points (10, 15, 20) showed reduction tended be smaller 0.579).Conclusions: impairment comparable sutures.

Nephron blood flow dynamics measured by laser speckle contrast imaging.
Tubuloglomerular feedback (TGF) has an important role in autoregulation of renal blood flow and glomerular filtration rate (GFR). Because of the characteristics of signal transmission in the feedback loop, the TGF undergoes self-sustained oscillations in single-nephron blood flow, GFR, and tubular pressure and flow. Nephrons interact by exchanging electrical signals conducted electrotonically t...
متن کاملLaser speckle contrast imaging for measuring blood flow
When a diffuse object is illuminated with laser light, a random interference effect known as a speckle pattern is produced. If there is movement in the object, the speckles fluctuate in intensity. These fluctuations can be used to provide information about the movement. A simple way of accessing this information is to image the speckle pattern the fluctuations cause a blurring of the speckle, l...

A method for dynamic, high-resolution cerebral blood flow (CBF) imaging is presented in this article. By illuminating the cortex with laser light and imaging the resulting speckle pattern, relative CBF images with tens of microns spatial and millisecond temporal resolution are obtained. The regional CBF changes measured with the speckle technique are validated through direct comparison with con...

Laser speckle contrast imaging has become a widely used tool for dynamic imaging of blood flow, both in animal models and in the clinic. Typically, laser speckle contrast imaging is performed using scientific-grade instrumentation. However, due to recent advances in camera technology, these expensive components may not be necessary to produce accurate images. In this paper, we demonstrate that ...
متن کاملLaser speckle contrast imaging of blood flow in rat retinas using an endoscope.
Laser speckle contrast imaging (LSCI) offers a cost-effective means to image blood flow in vivo. However, it is not commonly used to image rodent retinas because of the challenges associated with imaging through the curved cornea and delivering light through the highly scattering lens. A solution to overcome these problems by using LSCI in conjunction with an endoscope to obtain high spatiotemp...
